Sense & Sound LLC is a studio design and installation company based in Los Angeles. We design, manufacture, install and calibrate audio studios for the professional market.
Manufacturing Position
We’re looking to fill a carpenter’s assistant / manufacturing position at our workshop. We manufacture proprietary acoustic products, & installation hardware. Candidates should be good with working with their hands, be detail oriented, work well in a team, and be able to occasionally lift 50lbs.
You’ll be tasked with assisting with ripping of wood sheets, cutting of parts, assembly of products: primarily acoustic panels. This will be a part time position in the near term. Ideally this will grow to full time with the growth of the business. You’ll be working with materials such as plywood, luan, pegboard, soundboard, fabrics, fiberglass, wood glue and spray glue. You’ll be working with pneumatic staple guns and nail guns, miter saws, panel saws, drills, sanders, routers, etcPrevious experience in set building a plus!

Requirements
Attention to detail
Professionalism, strong communication skills, accountability, and punctuality
Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Experience working with carpentry power tools, and woodwork
Desire to learn higher woodworking skills is a plus
Be able to speak, read and write in English
Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
Ability to do simple math
Ability to understand simple plans and diagrams
Ability to be on time and ready to work every day
Ability to read a tape measure in inches
Someone who takes pride in their work
Compensation
The position will start as part-time, paid hourly. Initial pay will depend on your starting skills. Generally this would start at $17.5/h and will progress to $20/h when proficiency demonstrated. Pay will rise to $25/h as efficiency and independence is demonstrated, and you prove as a valuable asset to the team. Pay may further increase with increased value / responsibilities.
The position will ideally progress to full time, with the company’s growth.
